Abstract Objective: To investigate the effect of systematic nursing intervention on psychosocial adaptability and self-management level of patients with hypertension and atherosclerosis (AS). Methods: 132 patients with hypertension and AS were randomly divided into control group and observation group,each with 66 cases. The control group received conventional nursing intervention, the observation group received systematic nursing intervention.The qualified rate of blood pressure control between the two groups were compared,the blood pressure (SBP, DBP), AS parameters and scores of HP-SMBRS, PAIS-SR were measured before and after 6 months of intervention. Results The qualified rate of blood pressure control in the observation group was 84.85%, significantly higher than 69.70% in the control group (P<0.05);After intervention,the levels of SBP, DBP, AS plaque, IMT, L-baPWV, R-baPWV and scores of PAIS-SR in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), the HP-SMBRS scores were significantly higher (P<0.05). Conclusion Systematic nursing intervention is helpful to enhance the self-management ability and social psychological adaptability of patients with hypertension and AS, so as to delay the process of AS and improve the blood pressure control effect.
